Redefining Expression and History
In ARCH 4030, we were tasked with challenging the traditional “white cube” museum. The Museum of Protest challenges the traditional "white cube" concept by creating a space that embraces complexity, diversity, and unrestrained creativity. Located in the historic heart of Washington, D.C., the museum honors the transformative power of protest in shaping our nation’s identity. Through immersive exhibitions, interactive installations, and a contrasting design, visitors can reflect on the past, engage with the present, and understand how protest has shaped history and its enduring benefits to society. This is not just a museum — it’s a platform for learning, reflecting, and appreciating collective memory.
